

Call for Artists
Riverworks Development Corporation is seeking artists’ proposals for a hand-painted mural on the exterior walls at The Connector Building 274 East Keefe Avenue.
The building is located on the corner of North Richards Street and East Keefe Avenue. This new development along the Beerline Trail will serve as the anchor and accessway for the future development of the B-Line Park, a linear park project that will serve Harambee, Riverwest and the surrounding communities. The Connector Building will house a café and community space for residents to gather, have various events.
The Connector Building Mural Project
Riverworks Development Corporation received funding through the National Endowment for the Arts Our Town program, a creative placemaking grant to support activities that integrate arts, culture and design into community development.
Vision:
For this project, the goal of the mural design is to create a welcoming atmosphere surrounding the new development of the Connector Building, a community space, café and a Beerline Trail rest, gathering and programming space. This mural should be representative of the communities it serves, Harambee and Riverwest. Creating a hub for programming focused on civic engagement, arts and culture.
Project Timeline:
Monday, March 20th Deadline for receipt of concept
Monday, April 19th Notification of selected artist(s)
Friday, May 12th Final design completed
Monday, May 22nd Artist may start the mural installation on or after date
Friday, June 30th Mural completion date
*Timeline is tied to funding from the National Endowment for the Arts and is nonnegotiable
